Winter is here

We have been waiting for the winter to come and now it’s here. I don’t know the exact moment of the arrival but it has arrived. So the temperatures will now go down every day. Every nigth there is frost on the ground and it will continue like this until spring. The birds are on my porch every morning looking for food. I have to be careful when I feed the birds because of the cat next door. He is a hunter. So I try to look after the birds when they eat. This season of the year is also christmas time and they have allready started the decoration. Why now? 1st of december is the day you start decorating for christmas. Isn’t it? Anyway the season for jolly behaviour is soon to come. Have you all been nice this year? Santa got two lists and I am on them bougth, i think. Well time will tell. Do i believe in Santa? Off course! Reindeers, sled and the whole nine yards! Why? Because of the childish happines i feel inside every christmas and the pleasure of looking at my wife relax after christmas dinner well knowing i made yet another good dinner. Yes I make all dinners in our home. Why? I am a cook. Not some fancy gourmet cook but one of those who makes food for institutions like prison or nurcinghomes. Here in Norway your skills as a cook are almost at the same level as a gourmet cook. We go thru the same basics in our education the first two years. Anyway the winter is now here and we hope for a better world. So welcome king winter and may your season vail be as white as it should be.
