Tell us about your first day at something — school, work, as a parent, etc.
I remember my first day in the north sea working on an oilrig. Landed on the rig around 15.00 and was at work from 18.00 twelwe hour shifts. So my first shift is the nigth shift. My job was maintanance of the air-compressors we used for the divers. And I was damn good at it to! Rotation was three weeks on two weeks off and it payed very very well. I was 18 and made 35.000 a month + all the extra for dirt, hight, helo-ride back and forth, diet, overtime and that pushed my monthly salary over 65.000 nkr. In 1980! I was 18 years old and I had better monthly pay then the mayor of my city! My friends working on-shore made 15.000 a month and that was considert very good! Me, I was the king!
