Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?
It depends on what you mean on stage, rigth? There are professionals and amateurs. And you have the “15-minute of fame” shit to! So I asume any stage goes. When I served my 7 years10 months jailtime we made our own music in there. We had what we called a house-band and I played drums and did main vocal. They said we had to give “concerts” under every event we had in there. Jail in Norway is not like any other jail in the world. Look it up! Halden Fengsel is the jail you need to see because this is the one they have made videoes of. Anyway, yes I have been on stage and performed playing coversongs from various bands. It was three guys from different places who never had played together and the bassplayer had never touched an instrument before. But we learned how and we did it! We practiced every week for 8 hours and gave our first concert one and a half month later. BIG SUCCESS! We called us for “Tre justeringer og en knebøy”! For prisoners this bandname is the most accurate description of a norwegian tweeker on amphetamin! The speech i once gave was in front of 2500 students who had what they called a society wakeup call- week where they addressed a lot of subjects. I gave my speech on behalf of the criminal justice system, but from the prisoners point of view. I put a face on the criminal, sort of speak. I told them all about myself from i was born and until I was put in jail. Took me two hours on that stage and during the time it took it was dead quiet in the big room. Afterwards they gave me standing ovation and they all came to me and thanked me so much for putting a face to it all. That year i recieved over 2000 christmas cards from those students. Wile we are at it, i even had my 15 minutes on national tv. They where making a program on the norwegian firebrigades and my town was the first. And I was the first victim of a fire on this program! So the brigade came with a tvcrew and started filming and talking to me and it was a hectic moment of fame. Remembered for 15 minutes, yeah rigth!
